A pregnant woman who has previously delivered by cesarean needs counseling regarding the probability of a successful vaginal birth. A prediction model that can be used early in pregnancy gives ample time for a discussion of the risks and benefits of a trial of labor and thus allows the patient to make a more informed decision.
