The new Maintenance of Certification (MOC) process began in January 2008 and has several implications that will affect virtually all practicing ObGyns. There are 4 parts to the process, but the third component, Cognitive Expertise, is the one causing the most anxiety. Why? Because this is a “closed book” multiple choice written test for which the candidate must obtain a passing score in order to maintain certification.
