H1N1 Pandemic: Challenges of Information Dissemination and Practice Modification

When the first American H1N1 outbreak occurred in 2009, pregnant women were identified as high risk for disease sequelae. Obstetricians were compelled to learn about H1N1 vaccinations and the disease process and to become the primary provider of immunizations. This article will outline how 2 districts within ACOG addressed these challenges and the lessons they learned, which may help better guide similar efforts in the future.
