Postoperative Scare: A Rare Case of an Ovarian Dermoid Containing Gastrointestinal Epithelium

Pathologic findings of gastrointestinal epithelium in a teratoma are a rare but realistic possibility and can lead to a clinical dilemma in a morcellated specimen. This report documents a case of well-formed small intestine contained in an ovarian dermoid that was removed laparoscopically, and the subsequent postoperative implications for the patient and surgeon.
