Subramaniam A, Biggio JR
TheFemalePatient.2012;37(6):31-36.

Obesity is a commonly encountered problem in obstetrics and is an independent risk factor for multiple adverse pregnancy outcomes. Not only is there a higher incidence of cesarean delivery, but obese patients undergoing cesarean delivery also have an increased risk of endomyometritis and surgical complications. Clinicians must use the available evidence, expert consensus, and sound clinical and surgical judgment to determine the best management and surgical techniques for each individual patient.
